| Nuclear Clean Air Energy Race Car
Entergy drives home green message at the 2010
Indianapolis 500 with rookie driver Simona De Silvestro.
Why a car?
 |
Entergy Nuclear is in the third year of
the “Nuclear Clean Air Energy” campaign having reached millions of people on
race tracks, college campuses and in communities across the country. Our
goal is to gain visibility for our message and to use the platform to
recruit engineers to this growing, exciting industry. |
Our Newman Wachs Team
The National “Nuclear Clean Air Energy”
Initiative
More than three years ago, race car entrepreneurs Paul Newman and Eddie Wachs
joined forces with Entergy to start a campaign: Develop young drivers while
promoting a good cause. The Newman Wachs Racing team took the “Nuclear Clean Air
Energy” message to the tracks in 2008 and 2009, winning the Atlantic Series
Championship in 2009.
Besides winning races before more than a million fans at 10 courses across the
country, Entergy Nuclear and NWR also showcased the car at recruitment fairs and
at community events. Recruiting top engineering talent to Entergy and our
industry is paramount. Supporting local communities with the excitement of a
championship race team while educating children and families about clean, safe
nuclear power is also important to Entergy.
Now, at Indianapolis, Entergy takes another step onto the biggest stage in
motorsport. Simona De Silvestro, a rookie driver at this year’s Indy 500, is no
stranger to Entergy – she drove the “Nuclear Clean Air Energy” car in 2008. We
are proud to put our message before millions of race fans and behind Simona in
her inaugural appearance in this historic event.
